Winston–Adopted/Sold….

Winston is a very handsome kind and patient guy. Weight will be closer to 75 lbs as an adult. Her demeanor is ‘old soul’, he seems to already know how to be or what to do when I go to train him. For the non-hunter but in need of a companion dog, service dog, he will be loyal to you and you will find him super easy to continue on with the obedience training or in need of a versatile dog for other types of fun dog sports.  As of November he is 9 months of age and has obedience training w crate and leash training short and long lead (no harness training done here as a harness trains a dog to pull on lead, instead I train for them to walk with ease at your side)
Commands: sit, here, place, no, no barking, good dog. That’s the basic obedience training.

Parents:

Violet and Torch

Born:

Feb 2024

Winston update 1/1/2025 on his gun dog training for the hunter for him to be your hunting partner for hunting ducks, upland birds, antlers or tracking the blood from a shot deer or elk. He is working from ‘place’, steady, not gun shy and retrieving birds w return w clean delivery to hand. This guy has everything going for him. A sweet boy for home and family and will make a nice hunting companion for you this next 2025 season. He is ready to go to his new home from gun dog training 2/1/2025. I set the mouth with training more to the command ‘hold’. Give me a call and we can discuss what level you desire for Winston to be trained.

Price $3500

In the last year, I just hit ‘pause’, the Labradors in my kennel and I traveled for the last 7 months throughout OR and WA and went to some pristine places where there was clean water with no blue green algae and temperatures below 75!! In the last month, the Labrador Retriever Puppies and Labrador Breeder interests have increased.

It will take 6-8 months for the Labrador and Hunting dog business to get back halfway healthy again. The challenge for you as an adopter for a Labrador Companion, Service Dog or Hunter is to screen the Labrador Breeders for the Health Clearances and to make certain the breeder has seen to it the Parents of the Labrador Puppies have gone thru DNA Genetic Testing.

Most have not and do not keep up with communication with the DNA companies to see what is the latest disease that the Labradors are being plagued by and what current NEW DNA tests are available…..each year! I do. There is a disease called Copper Toxicosis that is plaguing the Labs for now almost 10 yrs. There has been a DNA test for this since 2017. Most to date still have NOT tested cleared their breeding stock.

I did in 2017 and cleared mine. If you are not careful with this CT matter, you might get a Labrador that succumbs to liver failure between ages 2-6 yrs of age.

My health guarantee is for life as it pertains to DNA flaws. I have not had any huge issues with my Labradors with allergies, skin issues or plaguing diseases. If you do have this happen with one of my Labradors, I honor a replacement or your money returned.

My screening on parents for hips and elbows is with IDEXX. Many Vet Teaching Universities recommended for me to refrain from doing clearances thru OFA as they have become substandard. I have found in the last dozen yrs, IDEXX has not failed me. With the elbows review it includes the shoulder and with the hips it includes the patella review.

I will add here on this set of black male Lab pups the parents are as follows:
Violet is a heat seeking missile on any task I give her, small and compact, very sweet and kind. Very pretty with brown eyes.
Torch is partial English as his Mother is Lucy, half English Labrador. Are they full English Labrador Puppies?

No but by infusing a little English into the American Field I have found it takes the edge off slightly and a much easier Labrador to train and get along with. Torch is a great guy, been very easy to train and get along with, a natural to birds and loves to hunt! He is quiet in the home and was easy to potty train.

If you would like this guy now, a lower price is offered and I highly recommend Bill Hillman style training can be found for free on You Tube.
For the additional training comes higher pricing but I am keeping my prices lower these days so they can get into a home for YOU and your family and as well, in keeping with the economy we have been tasked with for the last few years.

Most of the Trained Labs in the past adopted out, once older and retired, the master/owner returns for their next companion/hunting partner.

Please give me a call and we can discuss my training program for your home or hunting style and see if there is a fit here.

Colt

Colt is super good looking and will have a face much like his Grandpa Gage and his Sire Torch. Weight as adult 65-70 lbs only, smaller framed and stocky guy.  For the non-hunter but in need of a companion dog, service dog, he will be loyal to you and you will find him super easy to continue on with the obedience training or in need of a versatile dog for other types of fun dog sports.  As of November he is 9 months of age and has obedience training w crate and leash training short and long lead (no harness training done here as a harness trains a dog to pull on lead, instead I train for them to walk with ease at your side)Commands: sit, here, place, no, no barking, good dog.  Price $3000

Speaking of price and costs, the last few years with the way the National economy had sunk resulted for more than 90% of the well established Labrador Breeders to go out of business entirely throughout the Nation. In the last year, I just hit ‘pause’, the Labradors in my kennel and I traveled for the last 7 months throughout OR and WA and went to some pristine places where there was clean water with no blue green algae and temperatures below 75!! Ben is now beginning his gun dog training for the hunter for him to be your hunting partner for hunting ducks, upland birds, antlers or tracking the blood from a shot deer or elk. I’ve tested and teased him to the bird and he has a very strong drive to the bird, returns with vigor and has a soft kind mouth. I set the mouth with training more to the command ‘hold’. Give me a call and we can discuss what level you desire for Ben to be trained. I offer a lower price now as I begin this process and as I continue on with the gun dog training the price goes higher.
