Labrador Breeder California | Labrador Puppies | Love’s Labradors

Love’s Labradors produces top quality health tested and DNA cleared including Copper Toxicosis, Labrador Retrievers in colors: Black, Fox Red, Chocolate and Yellow. I have American Field Labrador puppies infused with a smidge of English in black and yellow available to go home end of Jan 2025. I earned my stripes thru the years competing at AKC and HRC Hunt Tests with some of my Labradors to test their soundness, birdiness and desire for the bird. I trained over 500 Labradors for hunting and obedience thru the years that gave me huge depth in what level of Labrador did I want to produce that everyone would love, appreciate and utilize in dog sports.

I prefer my Labrador Retrievers to go to homes for best care and most love. If you are not going to hunt with one of my Labs? That’s ok. Most love them as family companions. But if you are a hunter? My Labs become the stars at most hunt clubs and have a keen nose that will find the bird that the other dogs are unable to find. For those diving wounded ducks? My Labs will be swimming under water to get that bird! My Labs are as well, therapy Labs for PTSD patients, Detection K9 Units for child trafficking and narcotics, hunt for antler sheds, competition Labs in many AKC and UKC events of all kinds, hunt clubs lead guide dogs and sleep and love on your kids every day and night!

They can and I guarantee that they have the drive for the bird and seen by age 4-6 months. They are known to be with families, as companions, hunters, out fishing with you and enjoying the livingroom space with you and kids. They have the athleticism to do just about any sport. Adopters of my Labs compete with them in Field Trials, Hunt Tests, Dock Diving, Fastball, Mushroom or Antler Hunts and as well non-competition sports excelling as K9 Units, Search and Rescue land and water and for Therapy for all forms of PTSD.  My Labradors are my kids and are raised in my home in temperature control sanitized environments. Adopters from all across the United States but find many adopters throughout California take advantage for when I am in Central California during the Fall and Winter months. Right after first of every year I have 2 litters ready to go home for colors: black, yellow and fox red. Timing in 2025 for chocolate Labrador Retriever puppies will be end of Summer timeframe.  Most do not find the drive up into Oregon during the Summer months too far of a drive for one of my Labrador pups as they are tested clear of health diseases than most every Labrador breeder out there. And 5-6 Generations of proven clear health. I have on hand 4-5 generations for you to see other family members for the Lab puppy you will be picking out.

  • intelligent with a keen sense of smell
  • structurally sound and balanced
  • 100% birdy in the field by 4 months of age
  • Stellar Over the Top Good Looks with classic Lab appearance
  • easy to train means they are Intelligent and Patient

My Labrador Retrievers have undergone DNA genetic testing for:  EIC (Exercise Induced Collapse), CNM (Canine Myopathy), DM (Degenerative Myopathy), PRA-PRCD (Progessive Retinal Atrophy), and RDOSD (Retinal Dysplasia and Ocular Skeletal Dwarfism), CT (Copper Toxicosis), HU, SD2, IVDD, CMS, Stargardt, CMS, Eye Refractory (near sightedness). Thru being educated by a few Vet Teaching Universities I have switched from OFA in checking on hips and elbows to a more detailed and progressive way to tell if there are early stages of Osteoarthritis, hence elbow and hip dysplasia by performing the testing thru IDEXX and/or Penn Hip.

I look for caring and loving homes for the Labrador Reteiever puppy. I expect potential homes to have a fenced yard or be with them while they are outside in the beginning stages of their lives to make certain they don’t run off, be past Labrador Retriever puppy owners or have raised a puppy of another breed, and be able to provide the care that these angels deserve. I care for these kids and I want the love and care to continue in their new home.

Whether you are in the Bay Area, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, San Diego, or Northern California. If you truly desire the best Labrador Retriever, reach out to a skilled and well researched Labrador Retriever Breeder, that being me and let’s see if this is the best fit for all considered.

Our Customers Say

  Health and Genetics

At Love’s Labradors, I take the health and genetics of my Labrador Retrievers very seriously. I believe that extensive health testing is essential to ensure that my Labrador puppies and for all of my family of Labradors are healthy and free from genetic disorders. I also prioritize temperament evaluation to ensure that my puppies are well-socialized and have a stable temperament. I competed with my Labs from 2007-2019 to test for the drive, desire and hunt for the upland and waterfowl bird. Many Labrador breeders don’t take that time. My commitment to health and genetics ensures that my puppies are the best possible companions for families and hunters alike. By focusing on these critical aspects, I can provide you with a Labrador Retriever that is not only healthy but also has a wonderful disposition. I find majority of the adopters return in a few years for a second or even third Labrador Puppy from me. To me that speaks volumes.

Update November 2024

I have returned to my Winter training grounds in Los Banos, CA in Central California. 3 Seasons here now and good solid training gets done here in the milder temperatures without the snow and ice.
My Training Program has me allowing room and time to train for obedience and gun dog 3-4 Labrador Retriever Puppies per month from my breedings or from an approved kennel that I will train from their stock. I took a break from training Labradors for a few years and have found many of the trainers have gone out of business due to the past poor economy and there is a need for good quality trainers for the hunter, duck hunting experience and also for just understanding where a Labrador comes from to train for the companion dog.
My Gun Dog Training program is ONLY 60-75 days in length. I do not train a young Labrador to the college level within the 60-75 days but instead keep it basic so the mechanics, desires and commands are clean and they understand to their maturity level. I keep it positive and ask for the hunters to keep it positive with the commands for their first season. I do train much like Bill Hillman but also have my own style in reading the dog and applying the lessons and direction based on how much they can and desire to take in that day.  100% of the Trained Hunters by me are pleased with the outcome, and return for their next hunter.
In Central California I have 200 acres of pristine grass fields for them to be trained at and enjoy. Once Spring arrives and the foxtails emerge, I am out of here! I have a friend's large temperature controlled shop and 2 acres in the Salem area to now spend time at Spring thru Fall but with the increasing high temps now in the Pac NW has me seeking another home on acreage for my home and dogs to thrive at once again that we can call our own home!! Looking more on the coastal areas for the reduced temps in the Summer months. No matter where I have my dogs/kids I see to it they are cool, not dealing with high temps and have access to water to swim and play in.
Please let me know what your Labrador Training needs are and/or seeking a Labrador Retriever Puppy as I have some scheduled breedings going on now and again in Spring. Please refer to my Litter page.
Health Guarantee

As a seasoned Labrador Breeder and Trainer, I am committed to providing the adopters with healthy Labrador Retriever puppies. The Health Guarantee ensures that all of the Labrador Puppies young and old are free from genetic or hereditary issues, and I pre-screen the Dams and Sires to rule out any potential health problems. I also provide educational resources to help the adopters make informed decisions about genetic health and ensure that their new Labrador Retriever puppy receives the best possible care. This commitment to health and transparency gives the adopter the peace of mind, knowing that their new family member is off to the best possible start. My guarantee is for LIFE. Not many Labrador Breeders do that! If you have done wrong to the puppy like wrong food or too vigorous of exercise at too young of age, then my guarantee goes out the window and I chose the wrong adopter to one of my kids but I do guarantee to the hips, elbows and eyes and especially to the diseases that I have DNA tests that i can perform on the parents. Side bar note: for the hunters, I guarantee your Labrador Retriever puppy is birdy. Again, how many Labrador Breeders do that!! If not, give your other family member the pup and let's get you another Labrador puppy as a Hunter for you---no charge. I will need to assess the pup first at ages 4-6 months. I stand by this guarantee and my Labrador breeding program.
